With over 35 000 followers on tumblr and hundreds of simple but relatable illustrations, 17 year old Taylor-Ruth's work is easy to love. Check out more here and trawl her blog for hours like I did.

it's so peculiar how little we still know about something that consumes 1/3 of our lifetime.

These masterpieces have been floating around tumblr for a while, and after finally locating the source I was able to make a proper blogspot post on my favourites - which, as you can see, are copious. Of her near 200 creations, it was painful choosing just over 40 to upload here and that's something I've never found myself thinking or writing in regards to art as usually I think it is overrated and analysis of painting seems to leech my enjoyment of them. Hence I quit Art at school when I could, and also owing to the fact that I could not draw, sketch, paint or design to save my life. Here, at last, I can begin appreciating the immense talent of people like Linnea Strid, a young Swedish artist, who has a gift I wish I had...to bring to live a canvas, page or piece of wood, in such a way as this, blows my mind. At first glance, I even thought they were simply photos having been heavily edited! Apologies for the ridiculously long post here but the detail especially of water and light here is astonishing.
